Gears of War 3 – Crescendo (Comic Con)

M1A3 ABRAMS- A variant of M1A2 used by the U.S. Army. The chassis is plated with reactive armor, to partially shield the vehicle from rocket fire. The driver’s seat fires the 120mm main gun. A second position has control of the top-mounted .50 cal. machine gun.

T-99- A Chinese-manufactured tank used by the KPA. Features the same reactive armor as the Abrams. The main cannon is a 125mm smoothbore autoloader, fired from the driver’s seat. The secondary seat fires the remote controlled .50 cal. machine gun.

Z-10-A Chinese-manufactured attack helicopter used by the KPA. The pilot controls wing-mounted air-to-ground and air-to-air rocket pods. The secondary seat features thermal optics and a chain-fed 30mm autocannon mounted on the chin of the aircraft.

Air Assault Drone- Air Assault Drone: A battery-operated, remote-control helicopter. Armed with two unguided rocket pods. Vulnerable to EMP, small arms fire, and anti-air rockets.

Air Recon Drone- Air Recon Drone: A battery-powered, remote-control quadricopter. Cameras relay targeting info to teammates. Vulnerable to EMP, small arms fire, and anti-air rockets.

Ground Assault Drone- Air Recon Drone: A battery-powered, remote-control quadricopter. Cameras relay targeting info to teammates. Vulnerable to EMP, small arms fire, and anti-air rockets.

AH-64 APACHE- A two-seat attack helicopter used by the U.S. Army. The pilot fires six air-to-ground rockets or two air-to-air missiles at a time. The gunner’s seat features thermal optics and fires a hydraulic-controlled 30mm autocannon mounted under the cockpit.

M110-Semi-automatic sniper rifle that features a 3x scope and detachable 10-round magazine. Chambered for 7.62mm. Effective at long range.

M249-Primary LMG of the U.S. Armed Forces. The box magazine holds 100 rounds of linked ammunition. Difficult to control due to high recoil.

M4-The standard US Army assault rifle. A well rounded gun with low recoil, it is versatile and effective in many different situations.

M200-Bolt-action sniper rifle. Magazine holds five custom-tooled cartridges. Effective at extreme range. Has 4x thermal optics and a laser rangefinder.

SCAR-A lightweight, modular rifle developed to meet the needs of SOCOM. It features a burst fire mode that delivers three rounds for each trigger pull.

Age: 37

Connor Morgan is a legend of the Resistance. Hard bitten, enigmatic, fearless resistance fighter from North Carolina dedicated to eradicating the homeland invaders. His reputation precedes him, mainly from his experiences in the Oil Wars and through his victories in Montrose.
Heroic, but still a wild card with a violent undercurrent.

He holds everyone to his extremely high standards and does not believe in tact, diplomacy or half-measures of any kind. His morality is very black and white: you’re either with him or against him. He is the kind of man who is absolutely essential in leading an uprising, but who has no place in the peace that follows.

Boone

Hometown: Montrose, CO
Age: 39

Boone Karlson is the leader of a small resistance cell in Montrose, a natural but also uncompromising leader. Once a Montrose County Policeman, Boone was among the first to escape the detention camps and organize fighters. He is the principle architect of the squad’s compound/living quarters, a collection of three houses with shared backyards called “The Oasis,” where he engineered all of the post-peak-oil systems.

He dreams of living in peace in the free zone. He’s a level headed leader, but still a ferocious soldier. Somewhat beaten down by all the fighting he has done, Boone has a world weariness to him. With the squad all younger than him, Boone’s plays the role of father figure to the group.

Hopper

Hometown: San Francisco
Age: 32

Hopper Lee is a third generation Korean American. Because of his ethnicity, Hopper had a hard time during the early days of the Occupation, and his face is badly scarred from the San Francisco Race Riots of the early days of Occupation. To this day, he finds his loyalties questioned and working in resistance cells in SF kept getting the worst, most dangerous assignments.

Hopper is an expert mechanic and is proud of his driving expertise. He can fix almost anything, making him extremely useful in a resource-strapped world, and is Goliath’s prime handler. He’s the squad’s go-to man for setting up explosives or otherwise jerry-rigging equipment.

He has a close attachment to Goliath; like a clockmaker who just completed his master piece. No one is a more proud American than Hopper, and he is appalled that his ‘homeland’ has invaded the country and taken away the freedoms he holds so dear, having heard stories of the oppression in the homeland that caused his great grandparents to flee North Korea in the sixties.

Rianna

Hometown: Grew up in northern Colorado.
Age: 27

Rianna has been waiting for the opportunity to make a difference all her life, and the resistance has finally given her that opportunity. She developed survival and weapon skills growing up in the backwoods of Colorado.

Prior to the occupation, Rianna was surviving in post-peak-oil America as an accomplished hunter, going on treks into the forests and mountains surrounding Montrose to shoot elk and deer for their meat and skins.

She learned about weapons from anyone who would teach her.
Because Rianna is not former military, and not a battle hardened combat vet, cracks in her exterior resolve will show at times. She is a humanitarian, she does have feelings that she needs to deal with and control in the line of duty.

She’ll never feel good about everything the Resistance has done and will continue to do, but she’ll also never let those emotional struggles to destroy her and the other’s ruthless resolve to win at all costs. There is no other option.

We all may miss the Ghetto side of San Andreas where tanks, car and character customization was popular. In Grand Theft Auto 4 you can’t get a tank, fly a hover jet, get a hair cut, pimp out your ride, or use a parachute. But I think this is the best one yet. Niko is very interactive with the world around him and gets himself into a lot of trouble.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is realistic in every way possible. From walking and running, to driving and damage. If you flip your car it does not blow up. That way you won’t have to worry about messing up your rare car. You’re in New York and the cars look good, the weapon choice is selective, and you aren’t bothered by missile firing helicopters or heavily armored Rhino tanks.
